Build a great reporting interface using Splunk, one of the leaders in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) field, linking the collected Windows events to www.eventid.net. The EventId.Net for Splunk Add-on assumes that Splunk is collecting information from Windows servers and workstation via the Splunk Universal Forwarder.

To grant the Generate Security Audits privilege to the Microsoft Exchange service account, open the Windows 2000 Group Policy editor. If the machine is not domain controller, select the Local Computer policy object.

As per Microsoft: "This error occurs during an attempt to start the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service and indicates that the Generate Security Audits privilege could not be enabled. This issue can occur if the Microsoft Exchange Information Store (Store.exe) is using an account other than the Local System account. The Local System is granted certain privileges during setup".
