What is the role of the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service?
When can a disk become full?
As per Microsoft: "When a database runs out of disk space it will dismount all the databases. When a database runs out of disk space, it must be dismounted". See MSEX2K3DB for additional information about this event.
This issue can occur if there is not a sufficient amount of free disk space on the drive that contains the databases that you are trying to mount. See ME294318 for more details.
This problem can also be caused by low disk space on the Exchange Information Store Drive. See ME555425 for more details on this issue.
