Event ID: 9689 Source: MSExchangeISMailboxStore

Level
Description
Exchange store "<storage group name>": The logical size of this database (the logical size equals the physical size of the .edb file and the .stm file minus the logical free space in each) is <number> GB. This database size has exceeded the size limit of <number> GB.

If the logical size of this database is not reduced to less than the maximum size limit, this database will be dismounted the next time a database size check is performed.
Comments

This event is caused by the database size limit being reached. By default, the database size in exchange 2003 SP2 is 18GB. To extend this you must use registry settings. See the link to "Database Size Limit Configuration and Management" for details on how to do that.
As per Microsoft: "This event is logged if the first size check after a database is mounted identifies the logical size of the database to be greater than the limit that you have configured". See MSEX2K3DB for additional information about this event.
