SQL Server failed to communicate with filter daemon launch service (Windows error: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.). Full-Text filter daemon process failed to start. Full-text search functionality will not be available.
From a newsgroup post: SQL Full-text Filter Daemon Launcher (servername) is disabled - switch it to automatic.
This was started appearing after the MS SQL 2008 Dev 180-day trial fresh installation. Many forums including the MSDN suggest that removing all prior installations of older versions and installing the 2008 again will resolve this issue. Not been tried yet but the server do have a MS SQL 2000 Std installed and running.
