Build a great reporting interface using Splunk, one of the leaders in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) field, linking the collected Windows events to www.eventid.net. The EventId.Net for Splunk Add-on assumes that Splunk is collecting information from Windows servers and workstation via the Splunk Universal Forwarder.
The firewall exception to allow Internet Storage Name Server (iSNS) client functionality is not enabled. iSNS client functionality is not available.

What is iSCSI?
This problem might be caused by several Windows 2008 updates (KB979687, KB979688, KB981957, KB982132, KB2207566, KB2296011, KB2360131, KB2387149 or KB2345886).
In my case it did not help to stop and restart the iSNS and iSCSI Services on target and initiator side of iSCSI. A reboot was necessary to reestablish the iSCSI connection.
TD573342 provides details on how to configure the Windows Firewall for iSCSI Software Target.
