| Comments: EventID.Net From a newsgroup post: "I went in the Device Manager & clicked the Advanced Settings tab of the mouse properties page. All I did was disable wheel detection then I rebooted. It works fine now." This occured also when I used a Microsoft Optical Wheel Mouse on a Windows 2000 Professional system. The mouse and keyboard would freeze (but the system was ok otherwise). I have replaced the mouse and the problems dissapeared. Michael Perreault I encountered this problem on an HP Pavillion 6630 and the solution was to turn off the wheel autodetection on the advanced tab of the PS/2 mouse properties in the hardware manager. In addition, the BIOS settings on the system had to be changed from PS/2 mouse > Auto to PS/2 mouse > Enabled. |
