Typically, a name resolution issue causes this problem. The following are some examples when this error may occur:
- M275294 - In this case, the problem was caused by a member computer in the local Windows domain that has the same name as a domain controller in a remote Windows domain.
- M263208 - The problem can appear because of a DNS problem, for example, two computers register the same IP address in DNS. In this case, the A record for the computer that has the incorrect IP address should be deleted in DNS.
This usually means that the server name on the certificate doesn't match the server name of
the machine. For instance, if you are going to the machine based on Netbios machine name, but the certificate has the FQDN of the machine, then you may see this error.
