Comment: In response and addition to the comments left by Nedzmil Bahtovic  (Last update 7/31/2006):
"A badly configured Windows Time Service may be causing this error. Check if there are any error reports in the event log from the W32Time Service." etc etc.

In my experience of this problem. I was able to ping but I was not able to resolve any url addresses. I found it was actually a problem with the router/firewall device (netgear fvs318) we had connected to the server that had lost its connection to the NTP server and was not resolving the DNS properly because it had no time information.
