Comment: Backup the Registery settings Once you are in registry settings click file and click export "registry backup"

msdtc -uninstall
In the registry remove the following keys if they exist(Backup this key for Restoring):
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CID
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSDTC
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\MSDTC
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Services\MSDTC
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MSDTC

Reboot the Server and change the director to c:\windows\system and type the below command

msdtc -install
msdtc -resetlog

Verify the service in Services and Confirm if the service is set to Automatic Start.

Back out Plan : - Restore the registry by double clicking on the backed up file.
