This feature is only available to EventID.Net subscribers.
It provides you with the ability to add a personal, private comment for this event. This comment will only be visible to the subscriber that is currently logged in. It is a great way to keep notes for details about various events that were encountered in time (and maybe how they were fixed), without making this information public.
An example for event id 10010 from source DCOM:
Date: 10/26/2010 12:51:34 PM
I got this on 10/26/2010 on a XP workstation for GUID 0590AEC3-61EF-4C31-AAED-734A4E619247. I searched the registry and it corresponds to Asghost, an HP Laptop utility (C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\IAM\bin\asghost.exe) - the file description said "Global Virtual Card Host". That laptop had to be restarted as it was unresponsive.
In this example, the subscriber recorded one of the GUID that caused the problem and the conditions in which it was recorded. In the future it can be used for quick identification of a similar problem.
Another example, for event id 7000 for source Service Control Manager:
I got this for service ADS DVD Xpress B on PASCAL workstation. This service is for the ADS Video Express (external USB device), a VHS to DVD converter, normally not connected to the computer so at startup, the service cannot find the device that it needs.
In the second example, the error message was recorded as startup. The user made this comment so in the future, if this event or similar one is queried, this could provide a clue to what happened, for the same devices or it may help for other similar situations.
